DESCRIPTION
These beautiful tropical plants with amazing drooping blooms are a popular choice in our stores. The plant comes ready potted in the medium sized Marluz Planter.
Also known as Rose Grape, Pink Lantern Plant or Philippine Orchid, the Medinilla magnifica is one of the most stylish and elegant-looking tropical houseplants with its dramatic, rose pink hanging flowers and canopies of broad dark green foliage. The leaves of the Medinilla are ribbed and moderately succulent.
All Medinillas grow best in dappled shade or bright, indirect light. Direct sun will scorch the leaves or cause leaf drop. It needs about once a week of watering to keep the soil moderately moist but not soggy.
In Belgium in the 1900s the Medinilla magnifica was coveted by the late king Boudewijn and was grown in his royal conservatories. The plant was also depicted on the bank note of 10,000 Belgian francs.
