DESCRIPTION
The Hedge Cactus, scientifically known as Cereus repandus, is a majestic and hardy cactus native to the arid regions of South America. This plant is perfect for adding a bold, architectural element to your indoor or outdoor space with its tall, columnar structure and ridged stems. The Hedge Cactus thrives in full sunlight and requires minimal watering, making it ideal for busy or novice gardeners. In Singapore's humid climate, it is essential to water this cactus deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings—typically about once every 2-4 weeks. While the Hedge Cactus is easy to care for and non-toxic to pets, its sharp spines necessitate careful placement away from curious pets and children. This cactus dislikes overwatering and poorly draining soil, so ensure it is planted in well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes to maintain its health and striking appearance.
