Olive Tree Assortment – Japan

Refined, hardy, and full of character, the Olive Tree Assortment – Japan is a compact collection of young olive trees sourced from Japan, with naturally varied forms and mixed cultivars depending on the batch.

At around 35cm tall in a 10.5cm grow bag, these olives may look slightly smaller or more recently pruned at first glance, but the stems are already older, firmer, and more established than very young olive starts. This gives them a stronger foundation for future branching and a wider, more developed canopy over time.

These olive trees are currently pruned back for fresh new growth, so some pieces may appear shorter, more compact, or less full when first received.

This is intentional.

Pruning helps redirect the plant’s energy into new shoots and future branching. With good light, fresh soil, and regular feeding, the plant can gradually develop a wider, fuller spread from its stronger established stem.

This assortment can sometimes look similar to our Kodomo Olive, especially at first glance.

The main difference is that these plants generally have a slightly older, stronger, and more established stem, giving them a different growth foundation and a little more maturity despite their compact current form.

Because this is an assorted Japan batch, individual plants may also vary more in leaf shape, branching, and overall character.

These plants currently come in a compact 10.5cm grow bag, primarily intended for nursery growing and transport.
