• Origin: Japan
• Approximate height: 10cm
• Moss ball size: approx. 6cm
• Presented as a moss ball arrangement
• Comes with a black or white plastic dish
• Dish colour is supplied at random and cannot be selected

For a more finished display, you can place the moss ball onto:

• a shallow ceramic dish
• low tray
• bonsai bowl
• decorative plate
• stone or Japanese-style vessel

This gives you plenty of flexibility to style it without disturbing the plant itself.

• Genuine Japan-grown miniature maple
• Beautiful traditional moss-ball presentation
• Tiny maple leaves with strong seasonal character
• Compact enough for desks and shelves
• Lovely for Japanese, Zen, bonsai, and Japandi interiors
• Makes a distinctive gift for plant collectors

One of the charms of Acer Palmatum is that it changes with the seasons.

Leaf colour, density, and appearance can vary throughout the year. Depending on growing conditions and season, the foliage may shift in tone, shed leaves, or enter a more dormant-looking phase before producing fresh growth again.

This natural seasonal cycle is part of the character of the plant rather than a defect.

Japanese maples are often appreciated for their association with balance, change, renewal, and quiet beauty. Their seasonal transformation makes them a meaningful reminder of growth and the natural rhythm of change.

They are especially lovely for:

• study desks
• tea corners
• calm living spaces
• entry consoles
• thoughtful gifting

The Yamamomiji Moss Ball makes a particularly thoughtful gift for:

• birthdays
• housewarmings
• Japanese plant lovers
• bonsai enthusiasts
• appreciation gifts
• collectors looking for something uncommon

Its petite scale and Japan-grown origin give it a more special, collectible feel than a typical small foliage plant.

Plant Tips / Care

• Prefers bright light with some gentle morning sun
• Avoid harsh, prolonged afternoon heat
• Keep the moss ball evenly moist, but not permanently waterlogged
• When the moss begins to feel lighter or dry, soak the moss ball briefly and allow excess water to drain
• Good airflow is important
• Best kept in a bright, cooler, well-ventilated position
• Avoid leaving the moss ball sitting continuously in a pool of water

Japanese maples are naturally seasonal plants, so changes in leaf colour, leaf drop, or periods of reduced foliage can occur as part of their normal growth cycle.

The supplied plastic dish is primarily for practical display and watering. For a more premium look, simply place the moss ball onto your preferred shallow tray or decorative bowl.
